Each dance class will begin with a warm-up in order to prepare the body and prevent injuries. The warm-up will consist of various stretching and strengthening exercises to help increase flexibility, strength, and control. Dancers will learn various combinations, movement sequences and intricate choreography, set to different musical styles and tempos. Dancers will learn, practice and then perform these combinations in class, and all class material will be specific to the type of dance, age, and ability level.
All recreational classes will perform in the year-end showcase performance (recital) which is held in early – mid June (dates and venue to be confirmed at a later date). Each class will perform a dance in the recital with full costumes, sound and lighting. Please note: 8-week sessional programs will not perform in the year end showcase, however all other Full Season classes will perform, including Pre-Dance students and Adult Classes (optional for Adults, never mandatory).
Sessional Programs run in 8-week intervals and therefore are not recital classes.
Classes consist of fun, exercise and dance movement games for mom and son / daughter. Parents must participate in this class - only one child per parent please.
Classes will introduce children to the wonderful world of dance through a wide variety of musical styles. Children will develop their rhythm and musicality through this 8 week introductory session.
This class combines sessions in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Modern Dance. The class is designed for those with NO PREVIOUS DANCE EXPERIENCE who are looking to try a variety of dance forms in a short period of time, in order to build an awareness of movement preferences for selection of future dance classes.

Classes consist of introductory Ballet and Jazz movements; this class will improve flexibility and coordination while developing rhythm and musicality using a wide variety of music, tempos, and exploring a variety of themes through creative movement.
This class teaches coordination, body awareness and musicality through movement to music. This level is an introductory dance class and combines elements of both Ballet and Jazz Dance. This class aims to help students select future dance classes (i.e. Jazz, Ballet, Tap) based on their interests and movement preferences.
This class is designed for the young ballet dancer with a focus on basic ballet technique, creative movement, musicality and rhythm by introducing students to a variety of tempos and styles of music. This class is a wonderful introduction to the RAD syllabus (Royal Academy of Dance) for the more serious dance student wishing to continue in Ballet and complete the RAD Graded exam system.
Designed for the young dancer looking to experience one particular style of dance, or a combination of two or more styles of dance. These classes are appropriate for dancers in both levels 1 and 2 of study. This class will also help dancers select a course of study for future based on their personal goals and dance style preferences.
The foundation for all dance forms. Improve strength, poise, balance, and control. Technical skill gained through the study of ballet is necessary for all other forms of dance. This classical form teaches poise, body awareness and alignment, muscle tone and control by combining cardiovascular, muscular endurance, flexibility and various elements of rhythmical patterning. Ballet is the basis for all forms of dance, and is therefore a mandatory discipline for all competitive dancers and those interested in competing in the future should enroll in a ballet class.
The more dedicated and older students are required to come to Ballet class twice a week and will have the opportunity to be considered at 13 years of age or older for Pointe work. Pointe work is offered to the more advanced students when they have developed the necessary strength in the body, legs and feet. Students will be assessed by teachers and notified when they are eligible.
This high-energy class will include a cardiovascular and muscular endurance component, as well as improving flexibility, muscle tone, control and coordination. Jazz classes are comprised of a warm-up, centre work and progressions including jumps and turns. Beginner students will learn basic jazz steps, progressive skills and jazz combinations and routines. All dance combinations and sequences are performed to Contemporary music, and Jazz classes are offered in all levels.
Tap dance concentrates on rhythm and timing, and requires interpretation of music through sound, creating regulated and controlled sounds through intricate footwork. More advanced levels of tap teach syncopation and more complex rhythms and combine a variety of styles of classical tap dance. Tap classes are offered in all levels.
Acro dance will enhance flexibility, strength and agility, as well as body awareness and alignment, and includes gymnastics floor movements with body shapes, and contortions. These elements are combined with dance steps and set to music, to create various dance sequences and intriguing choreography; a beneficial class for any dancer or gymnast. Acro classes are offered in all levels.
A combination of free style and street dance, as seen in your favourite music videos, and is performed to popular music. This form is a high-energy class, similar to Jazz dance, but without the technical components of Jazz Dance. This class is a great way to exercise, build confidence, and make new friends while learning to dance. Hip Hop classes are offered in all levels of study.
This class is a combination of both Hip Hop and Jazz Dance and is designed for the recreational dance student. Classes will improve rhythm and musicality and will teach the basics of both Jazz and Hip Hop through this high energy dance class. After 1 year of study, students should move into a Jazz Dance or Hip Hop Dance stream, based on their preferences.
This class combines Jazz and Ballet movements and focuses on body alignment, creativity and personal expression. Modern dance incorporates muscle tone and control and strengthens core support. Our Modern techniques are based on the principles of Martha Graham and Jose Limon. Modern classes are offered in all levels.
This form is based on classical jazz and includes slow and graceful movements, focusing on poise, control, muscular strength and flexibility. Lyrical dance interprets the lyrics of a song and expresses the feeling and emotion through dance. This class is offered to students ages 8 and up who are more advanced in their technical training.
This class combines the basic modern principles with the grace of lyrical jazz dance. This class is designed to give students the opportunity to experience both forms of dance, while enhancing their dance skills and abilities. After 1 year of study, students should move into a Modern Dance or Lyrical Dance stream, based on their preferences.
This fun and energetic class incorporates drama, song and dance by developing personality and characters for each specific dance sequence performed. The technique is based on Classical Jazz and Classical Tap Dance. The emphasis of this class is on stage production, as well as presentation & performance, in order to help build self-esteem and confidence in all dancers.
Conditioning is important for dancers of every level, in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle in and out of the dance studio, as well as to avoid injury through poor technique or overuse of the body. This class includes stretching and strengthening exercises, and combines muscular tone & endurance training, cardiovascular exercises, alignment, and develops the body/mind awareness through imagery. This class will combine Yoga and Pilates principles, and is a mandatory course of study for all competitive dancers, in order to be in shape and meet the demands of an intensive competitive training program.
This highly active and engaging program will teach you the basics of cheer dance in recreational class setting. Ideal for those wanting to be cheerleaders or cheer dance team members in the future; this class is an excellent form of exercise, while having fun and making new friends.
