Laurel Ashbee-Rodgers BFA, BEd, AISTD, RAD


A Whitby resident of 28 years, with over 20 years of dance experience in various dance arts and 13 years of teaching experience in and around the G.T.A. She has over 9 years experience dancing and choreographing competitively within Canada and the United States in disciplines such as Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Stage and Modern Dance.

A member of the Ontario College of Teachers and a graduate of York University in Toronto, Ontario. She completed a five-year double degree program, achieving an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, as well as a Bachelor of Education, specializing in the Intermediate and Senior divisions. During her years at York, she was a dancer and choreographer for various performances, including York Dances and the annual Jazz Show. She was an original member of the York Dance Team, specializing in Hip-Hop, Jazz and Cheer Dance. She performed at various sporting events and venues around the city.

Laurel holds her Associate Modern, Advanced Tap & Modern with the Internationally recognized Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing as well as her Intermediate status in Ballet with the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance.

As a professional, Laurel continues to train and to further enhance herself as a dance artist, to build her dance repertoire and continue to deliver the utmost quality in dance training to each and every one of her students.
